The EMS recognizes that personal travel to the EMS Annual Meetings likely represents the largest contribution to the carbon footprint of our event. In the effort to reduce emissions, we ask meeting participants to consider measures to offset the climate impacts of travelling to the EMS2022.
We encourage all participants of the conference to investigate possibilities to travel to Bonn by train. Below are links that provide some information on options to travel to Bonn by train.
In any case, you may wish to consider offsetting travel-related emissions by donations to solar, biomass, or energy-efficiency projects through Atmosfair or other similar organisations.

We recommend walking to the venue of the conference. Take the Quantiusstraße exit. Afterwards, walk down Colmantstraße, which becomes Endenicher Allee (ca. 15 min). Then, turn left and follow Nußallee (ca. 2 min). You will already see Campus Poppelsdorf on your right. Finally, turn right and walk down Reinhard-Selten-Straße (ca. 2 min). The event will take place at the b-it Gebäude and the Hörsaalzentrum.

There are many trains operating between Cologne Central Station and Bonn Central Station. We recommend taking either RE5 to Koblenz Hbf or RB26 to Mainz Hbf (ca. 20-30 min). There are many possibilities to get to Bonn Central Station from Cologne-Bonn Airport by public transport. From Terminal 1, Köln-Grengel Flughafen, we recommend taking the bus line SB 60 (ca. 30 min). After arriving, walk through the central station and take the Quantiusstraße exit. The fastest way from Frankfurt am Main Airport to Bonn is via train. We recommend booking an ICE train to Cologne Central Station and following the second description to get to Bonn Central Station. Train fares are likely to vary between €40 and €80. You can book tickets online via Deutsche Bahn.
